In competition of more than 1,800 companies from 54 countries in this year’s Red Dot Award 2013, Porsche Design receives three awards from Design Center. The black Porsche Design P‘9981 Smartphone from BlackBerry, the wristwatch series P‘6300 Flat Six and the luxury brand’s first women’s handbag, the TwinBag will receive awards on July 1, 2013 in Essen.
“Today our philosophy is more in demand than ever before – and we are proud of this. Durability and sustainability are aspects which are increasingly appreciated,” says Juergen Gessler, CEO of the Porsche Design Group. “We are particularly pleased by the award for the TwinBag. It demonstrates that functional design and women’s luxury products are not a contradiction.”
The TwinBag combines uncluttered elegance with timeless beauty. The bag’s unique feature is its ingenious handle concept, and has handles that can be adjusted to enable it to be carried either in the hand or as a shoulder bag. Thus the bag with its sporty modern business look is transformed in an instant into an elegant accessory for the evening.
Best of the Best award will get the black version of the Porsche Design P‘9981 Smartphone for its high design quality. The P’9981 has a forged stainless steel frame, hand-wrapped leather, specially developed keypad and touch display. Porsche Design P‘6300, P’6350 and P’6351 Flat Six watch series are available for the first time in two sizes.
