One of the surprises at the New York Auto Show was the Jaguar XKR-S GT. Model only designed to celebrate the 25 years of the R models in the Jaguar badge was produced in only 30 copies and is offered only to Americans. Just days after New York, Jaguar has changed the opinion and left the possibility of producing more cars. Today, Jaguar has raised production from 30 to 40 examples of its extreme, track-focused sportscar, the XKR-S GT, and announced that it will be coming to the UK.
In North America Jaguar XKR-S GT cost $174,895 and in UK it will have the price of £135,000. Jaguar claims that the decision is a direct result of the unprecedented demand it has received since the car was unveiled and has promised that the first examples of the British version will start rolling off the production line in October. To remind you that Jaguar XKR-S GT is powered by 5.0-liter V8 engine, backed by a compressor that brings him 550Hp and 680 Nm of torque.
The power is transmitted through a six-speed automatic to the rear wheels. Such a configuration of this particular model provides a top speed of 186mph and acceleration to 60mph in 3.9 seconds. What XKR-S GT makes it special is a series of aerodynamic modifications, and modified suspension, better handling and more powerful braking system.
