911 sculpture that was designed to celebrate fifty years of the model is set in front of Goodwood House and consists of three 911 models. Porsche will record a large presence in the maintenance of this year’s event as the special focus will be on the history of the model 911. Gerry Judah designed this special sky high sculpture, that defies gravity and holds together three 911 cars, the 1963 911, the 1973 911 Carrera RS, and the 2013 911.
The 100-foot steel sculpture boosts surreal and futuristic arrow-like structures, with cars instead of arrowheads. The magnificent artwork can be seen in West Sussex, England, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The designer made a series of other car-themed installations for the same festival, over the years, like Ferrari, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz. All seven generations of Porsche was shown and some of them was driven some of the best drivers, including Hans-Joachim Stuck, Jörg Bergmeister, Richard Attwood and Vic Elford. Several other historical models were also presented, including the 936 Spyder, 935/78 ‘Moby Dick’ and 917/30 Can-Am race car.
