The memorable house from the 1986 classic “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” is back on the market. The modern-looking house, best known as the pad of Cameron Frye where he kicked father’s red Ferrari through the glass walls of a modern garage, sending the classic car plunging into the ravine below, is now on sale at a discounted price of $1.375 million.
Located at 370 Beech St. in Highland Park, the four-bed, four-bath property, which includes the main home and the detached glass pavilion, was previously listed in 2009 for $2.3 million. The price was reduced to $1.8 million and then $1.65 million before it was taken off the market in 2011.
The modern home was designed in 1953 by architect A. James Speyer, a protege of Mies Van der Rohe. It is surrounded by trees and offers 5,300 square feet of living space throughout and also features wall-to-ceiling windows and room to park four cars – including a red Ferrari, should one be so inclined. According to the listing, the home has had several updates, including new windows, roof and carpeting, as well as interior and exterior steel renovation.
