This might be the future of travel. Young Spanish inventor by the name of Rodrigo Garcia Gonzalez has been burning up the Internet with a video of his self-propelled, robotic carry-on suitcase, which is called the Hop!
This innovative suitcase follows you wherever you go. It’s designed to track a Bluetooth signal from a smartphone and use its onboard “caterpillar system” to move itself just a few feet behind you. If it loses the signal it’s following, your phone will vibrate, letting you know that your suitcase is lost. The smart luggage is manufactured to meet most airline cabin space requirements, measuring 55 x 40 x 20 cm (roughly 21 x 15 x 8 inches).
Hop! suitcase is in prototype form at this point, but Gonzalez plans to mature his prototype and complement it with a larger suitcase, with a view to eventually bringing both to market. Why not?! It looks like a great little device. You can see it in the action in the video below.
