In its fifth year of watch-designing, Ralph Lauren unveils the Sporting Automotive Flying Tourbillon, part of brand’s “Sporting” family. This watch which features one of the most prestigious watchmaking complications: the Flying Tourbillon is sleek homage to his 1938 Type 57SC Bugatti Atlantic Coupe. The 45mm shot-blasted black stainless steel case features the outer dial made of a rich elm burlwood, the same material as the dashboard of the Bugatti Coupe, while the inner dial is a textured, matte black.
The 28-jewel RL167 calibre that features an off-centered, gold-plated micro-rotor is visible through the sapphire crystal-case back. Two luminescent sword-shaped hands orbit the central time display. The black leather alligator strap completes the sophisticated, minimalist design.
No words about pricing, but the Sporting Automotive Flying Tourbillon will be unveiled at the SIHH 2014 in Geneva.
