Stormtrooper helmet signed by George Lucas recently sold for $245,000. But, hey fans, don’t despair! One other piece of Star Wars history still waiting for you – the laser gun made famous by Han Solo is up for auction and it’s expected to fetch between $200,000 – $300,000. The non-firing, lightweight blaster was created for 1980’s The Empire Strikes Back and also featured in 1983’s Return of the Jedi. This invaluable gun, based on the German issue Mauser C96 pistol, featured in many of the scenes with Han (Harrison Ford) and was custom made for the film from resin. It was also used by Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker in some of the scenes.
DL-44 blaster is exactly in its original filming condition and therefore exhibits wear from use, but retains all of the original details. It comes with a letter of authenticity from a noted Star Warscollector and will be auctioned on 21 December via invaluable.com.
