House made out of sweets from a fairytale of Hansel and Gretel became a reality. Not only made of sweet treats, it’s the world’s largest gingerbread house. A group of volunteers in Texas have constructed this unusual house, big enough to accommodate a family of five.
The Guinness World Records has declared a gingerbread house Bryan, Texas which measures 18m by 12m (60 feet by 42 feet), the world’s largest. It is made of 816kg of butter, 7,200 eggs, 3,265kg of flour and close to 1360kg of brown sugar. The tasty house also features 22,304 pieces of hard candy and packs in a total of 36million calories.
This edible house was built by the Traditions Club near Texas A&M University to help raise money for a trauma center at the regional St. Joseph’s Hospital. Although it’s edible, it won’t be eaten, but will be opened up for paid to raise money for the charity.
