Ford Escort MK2 R1800 from 1977, which was tested by the glorious Rally champion Colin McRae, will be offered at auction on 22 February 2014, on Race Retro fair which will be organized by Silverstone Auctions. The car was developed and produced by Prepfab Motorsport Engineering, and tested by Colin McRae. His father, Jimmy McRae, won the race in this vehicle at the Roger Albert Clark Rally in 2006. Two years later, his brother Alister McRae won the memorial rally that has carried the name Colin. In 2009 the Ford Escort MK2 R1800 was revised and then took part in the Rally Clasico Isla Mallorca in 2010 and 2011.
This gorgeous retro copy of racing car should achieve the price between $106,000 and $140,000, and the buyer will receive a booklet issued by the British MSA (Motor Sports Association), in which is described the history of the vehicle.
