British fashion label Hackett teamed up with British cycle brand, Cooper Bikes to , to design two dual branded bicycles and a range of cycle-inspired clothing. The bikes – a £1,295 ($2,145) Chrome Single Speed and £1,995 ($3,305) Green Tourer are made by Cooper bikes but have been styled and finished by Hackett’s designers. Both models are available in three different frame sizes (52/57/61cm) and with a specially developed Cooper Bikes/Hackett head badge on the front of the frame as standard.
The Chrome Single Speed bicycle comes with a glistening chrome plated frame with red/white and blue detailing. It is based on a Cooper T200 Reynolds 531 steel frame which makes the bike sturdy without compromising its lightness. It can be configured for single speed freewheel or fixed wheel riding. The classic ‘Mustard’ coloured Brooks Swift saddle and Brooks leather bar tape, complement and highlight the brilliant finish of the frame. On the Mavic Open Sport rims, Tektro brakes provide the stopping power. This bike brings back ‘gum wall’ tyres.
The second bike is the Hackett-Cooper T which brings a touch of class to touring. Inspired by the classic lightweight racing bikes of the sixties, the Tourer combines timeless styling with the latest materials and technology. The lugged and brazed frame uses the famous Reynolds 531 steel tubing, provides a stiff yet smooth ride. The Hackett Cooper Tourer comes equipped with the striking Campagnolo 20 Speed VELOCE set-up.
To accompany the bikes, Hackett has designed a collection of practical clothing – retro inspired shirts, polos, jackets, pants and jeans, suitable for gentlemanly cycling adventures, using waterproof and breathable fabrics. Accessories include a backpack and a saddle bag for the back of the Green Tourer.
