Chopard L.U.C. 1963 is a limited edition, chronometer wristwatch fitted with a newly developed, traditionally styled movement, the LUC Calibre 63.01-L. This timepiece is created to mark the 50th year of Chopard’s ownership by the Scheufele family. Equipped with a pocket-watch movement occupying the entire 44 mm diameter of the timepiece, it is a direct descendant of the chronometers that Chopard was still producing in 1963.
The sides of the case which is available in rose gold or platinum are cambered and brushed, while the slender rounded bezel is polished. Total thickness is 11.50 mm. The porcelain-style white dial features a small seconds subdial at 9 o’clock and dauphine hands, which design is typical of the new L.U.C collections. The black Roman numerals and a rail track minute circle are direct references to the golden era of chronometers.
The Calibre 63.01-L which measures a full 38 mm in diameter was developed with the Geneva Watchmaking School in 2010 and is also a certified chronometer by the COSC and has a robust 60-hour power reserve.
Chopard L.U.C. 1963 is limted to only 50 pieces.
