New York Fashion Week goes by in a flash. What marked this event certainly was Marc Jacobs‘ “Puffy Clouds Embroidery Dress.” This nothing special but obviously so special gown (according to its price) is made in a Swiss embroidery mill. Each individual flower on this dress is made of organza and hand-filled with three meters of yarn to create a pillowy look. The flowers were then crafted into fabric, as commissioned by Marc Jacobs’s design studio.
It took three people one week to construct. This dress from the designer’s fall 2014 collection is available by special order and will cost you more than your annual salary. To be more precisely – $28,000. The fabric itself cost €8,000 (or $11,030) a meter.
