RM Auctions has prepared some special and very expensive Italian sports cars of the fifties and sixties. Auction will be held in Monaco on May 10, and the one with the highest estimated “figure” (from $5.5 to $7.5 Million), is the Maserati 450S with a very interesting history. The Maserati’s “Life” began as a six-cylinder 350S, which Stirling Moss drove in 1956 at the Mille Miglia race.
Unfortunately, the brakes broke down and the car crashed into a tree, almost ending in the bay. Moss and his passenger were not injured, but the car was “goodbye”. Maserati fixed it and used the chassis to test the new 5.7-liter V8 racer named 450S.
