The French government selling for $48Million a luxury apartment of its ambassador to the UN in New York. Luxury apartment was purchased in 1979 for two million dollars. It is located in the district of Manhattan, in a building in New York called “The Billionaires Building.” It was built in 1929, by order of Jackie Kennedy grandfather, Jamie T. Lee. By unwritten rule, preferred customer is the one whose property is at least four times higher than the price of a luxury apartment, and which has a guarantee that it will be able to pay the costs of maintaining an apartment in the amount of $33,500 per month.
By the same rule, the owner would rather opt to sell the apartment to “discrete” buyer, than some famous rich man.
France will provide a new, cheaper housing for its ambassador Gerard Aroa. As part of the new austerity, France should sell a building on New York’s Fifth Avenue where French diplomats currently living.
