When you mention a famous name in the automotive industry the first thing that comes to your mind are the luxury and prestige. But when you see this model, you will have a completely different association. It’s the original Aston Martin DB5 that in 1964 celebrated Sean Connery in “Goldfinger”. On May 17 the car will be at auction, and is expected to achieve a price of just around 10,000 pounds($16,900), even in this condition.
Besides the fact that it lacks the motor and most of the parts that are responsible for the operation of a car, the corrosion is visible on all of the paintwork and over 35 years no one cared about it, it is expected that some of the fans of James Bond really buy this car.
It is estimated that a person who becomes a (happy) owner of this DB5 model will have to invest around £300,000($500,000) to make the car back to its original state. Even then the new owner will hardly manage to register the car because he does not have any document or the chassis number.
