United Arab Emirates national carrier Etihad Airways has revealed what will be a luxury boutique hotel experience in the sky. Their new Airbus A380 and Boeing B787 Dreamliner will boast the most amazing commercial aircraft cabins. The three-room Residence, located on the upper-deck of the A380 is the the world’s most luxurious living space, comprising a living room, separate double bedroom and en-suite shower. Also, all those lucky enough to travel in this magnificent living space, will have the services of a personal butler trained at London’s Savoy.
The first class section on the A380, renamed First Apartments, is also located on the upper deck of the A380 and will feature private suites with a separate reclining lounge seat and full-length bed, both upholstered by the suppliers of Ferrari’s interiors Poltrona Frau, and will also come furnished with a chilled mini-bar, personal vanity unit and wardrobe.
Airline boss James Hogan said: “These new living spaces will raise inflight product and service standards to their highest level yet in commercial aviation and alter air travellers’ expectations of inflight comfort and luxury forever.”
The same concept is also available on the airline’s B787 aircraft, pitched as First Suites. It’s first class has also been enhanced with chilled mini-bar and a 24 inch TV monitor, while passengers will be able to create a ‘double’ bed by joining suites.
Economy passengers will also enjoy some benefits thanks to a new Smart Seat with a Panasonic eX3 system providing more than 750 hours of on-demand entertainment on noise-cancelling headsets, improved gaming and an HD touchscreen with Wi-Fi and mobile access.
Also, Muslim passangers can use prayer areas which can be curtained off for privacy and are equipped with a real-time electronic Qibla-finder showing the exact direction of Mecca based on the aircraft’s geographical position.
