The four-story, 3,800-square-foot townhouse at 169 East 71st Street is divided into two duplex units, but it could easily be converted into a single-family home with ten bedrooms. It features hardwood flooring, French windows and wooden doors with drywall ceilings.
According to RealtyToday, floor plans show there is a basement level and three stories above the ground level. The ground floor/ main level has a large living room, an eat-in kitchen and a huge solarium. The upper level has a den, a bedroom and two bathrooms.
The other duplex unit perches atop the first floor. The lower level is comprised of a living room, a dining room and a pantry-attached kitchen. The upper floor has two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The house was previously owned by management consultant Peter Bacanovic, who spent five months in prison in 2004 in connection with Martha Stewart’s insider trading case. He purchased the property in 2000 for $1.88 million, and sold it to a holdings company for $5,8 million in 2012.
