We already seen regular melons with the face of Hello Kitty. Last year, Japanese food company in Furano, Hokkaido, has grown this sweet fruit with the image of children’s favourite icon Hello Kitty engraved on the fruit surface. Now, the same thing, but the different occassion – 40th anniversary of the world’s most famous cat. The only difference is that melon comes in a commemorative box that features the white cat character.
Priced at 5,000 yen ($50!), these special melons won’t be delivered out of Japan and they won’t ship until the end of July. And, as expected from this kind of things, Hello Kitty 40th anniversary melon is limited to only 400 pieces. Knowing about her popularity, this cat engraved on the fruit will find those 400 crazy Japanese very fast.
