Wider Yachts is constructing the new 50-meter superyacht Wider 165′ and is expected to hit the water by early 2016. Representing the Italian builder’s largest superyacht project to date, the superb Wider 165′ yacht was ordered by the yard’s new co-owner. Originally, he planned to build the Wider 150′ yacht, but his wish to house a unique tender onboard required a larger project which now takes desired form.
Tilli Antonelli, President and Founder of Wider, was present for the momentous event and reflected the upbeat mood of the workforce in his comments: “This is an exciting step forward for our shipyard. It would not be fair to say that work has now started on the 165’ because actually we have been working for well over one year to ensure a high standard of excellence in the finished product. Now we can start to really see the results of our work though, as the yacht will take shape before our eyes in the talented and experienced hands of our craftsmen.”
Wider 165′ features the same elegant lines, sense of harmony and connection with the water, with added significant interior volume and exterior living space. Along with its innovative submersible bay, the new 165’ yacht accommodates a touch-and-go helipad and offers a truly magnificent “Wider Beach” – one of the most spacious transom swim-and-sunbathing decks in its class – complete with indoor swimming pool. The “Beach” also converts to a garage that seamlessly accommodates the highly customizable new Wider 32’ yacht tender, while a floating launching system facilitates entry/exit maneuvers for the crew launching the tender.
The Wider 165′ will feature diesel-electric propulsion, for efficiency. She has been customised to satisfy every desire of her owner, and boasts even greater volume than luxury yacht Wider 150′. This means that she can even house a personal submarine and accommodate a touch and go helicopter pad as well as offering generous interior spaces, whilst remaining under 500 GRT.
The owner has kindly granted permission for her to be displayed at the Cannes Boat Show and Monaco Yacht Show 2016.
