Dubai ruler Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum revealed plans for a sprawling real-estate project known as Mall of the World that will include the 8 million square foot (743,224 square meter) mall, a climate-controlled street network, a theme park covered during the scorching summer months and 100 hotels and serviced apartments. Plans for the World Trade Center were first discovered 18 months ago, and it seems to be now moving works.
However, it does not say when it expects to complete construction, how the project will cost and who will finance it.
“Our ambitions are higher than having seasonal tourism. Tourism is key driver of our economy and we aim to make the UAE an attractive destination all year long. This is why we will start working on providing pleasant temperature-controlled environments during the summer months,” said Sheik Mohammed.
New complex will be able to host an impressive 180 million visitors annually.
