Although the official presentation is scheduled for tonight in Berlin, we present to you the first official pictures of the new Smart ForTwo and ForFour. Cars comes with rear-wheel drive, and share about 70% of the parts with the recently introduced new generation of Renault Twingo. ForTwo and ForFour have the same front end (grille, lights, bumper), while the biggest difference of course is that ForFour has a few more doors and room for four passengers.
It should be noted the spacious two-tone interior with higher quality materials and three-spoke steering wheel (some versions will have an LCD instrument panel), LED daytime running lights, new design alloy wheels and much more. The engines will be a 1.0-liter atmospheric with 51 kW/70Hp and 91 Nm and 0.9-liter turbo with kW/90Hp 66 and 135 Nm. There will be a Brabus version with “more than 74 kW/100Hp” until end of 2015, and in the beginning of 2016, we can expect and electric ForTwo EV. Standard will be five speed manual transmission and optional six-speed dual-clutch. Smart will begin to receive pre-orders for the new ForTwo and ForFour from 31 July, but prices are not yet known.
