The Landmark Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong has launched a new afternoon tea service, aptly named “Perfect in Pink and Purple”. Culinary Director Richard Ekkebus has collaborated with triple world champion jam maker Francis Miot to create a unique Violet & Blueberry jam in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. This special afternoon tea set gives guests a chance to enjoy a delicious jam in the colours of autumn, which is fruit-driven and full of fragrance.
The tea has been created by the hotel’s pastry team and is designed to “capture the elegance and fragrance of late summer flowers”. As such there is a focus on the colours and flavours of violets, roses, Egyptian starflowers, lavender and autumn berries. It actually include five types of pastries and savouries, scones, jams, priced at HK$278; while dessert buffets are served on weekends and public holidays, priced at HK$318.
The afternoon teas are complemented by a selection of premier teas and coffees, including free flowing cold-infused hibiscus and blank current Jing tea, while a glass of Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin pink champagne is also available at an additional HK$120.
“Perfect in Pink and Purple” will be served between 3pm and 5.30pm from Monday to Friday and from 2.30pm to 6pm on the weekends and public holidays. The first 200 patrons each month, who order the afternoon tea set will receive a pink ribbon pin from the HKBCF as a token of thanks for their support.
