Here’s one happy marriage between England and Scotland. English watch company Bremont has teamed up with renowned blended Scottish whisky Chivas Regal to create a new, Chivas 12 Made for Gentlemen by Bremont limited edition gift tin. This is the third in a series of annual collaborations between Chivas Regal 12 and modern British craftsmen. Craftsmanship, style and generosity are at the heart of this recent collaboration: “We’re both independent British brands founded on notions of integrity, craft and skill and it felt like a natural fit”, says Giles English, co-founder of Bremont. It’s a sentiment echoed by Colin Scott, Chivas’ master blender; “in our own way, we’re both focused on time. Obviously with Bremont that’s their focal point, but our whisky relies on an ageing process and a certain degree of patience, so time’s crucial to Chivas too”.
The second half of the 2014 collaboration between Bremont and Chivas Regal has seen 2.5million ‘Chivas 12 Made for Gentlemen by Bremont’ limited edition gift tins produced, featuring an interlocking design of embossed Bremont watch parts and containing a bottle of Chivas 12 whisky and will go on sale this month.
Alongside a rather handsome Chivas whisky tin, which denotes actual complications and mechanisms within specific Bremont watches (lending the process of enjoying a wee nip a further dash of soignee), the two brands have created 12 Chivalry Limited Edition watches, ten of which will be auctioned off for charities around the globe, starting on Oct 22 with a Prince’s Trust auction.
The individually numbered automatic watches feature a ring of oak taken from one of Chivas’ whisky casks and are each presented in a leather pouch with engraved copper plate, taken from a retired Scotch whisky still. The handsome chronographs features the signature of company founders James and John Chivas and a subtly embossed Chivas crest on the dial.
