After nearly a year of teasing, Razer’s Nabu smartband found its way into the heart of the consumers. And, it was needed only 15 seconds! Five thousand of these bands had been made available for pre-order online, and all of them were sold out within a mere 15 seconds. Just to recall, the Razer Nabu is essentially a fitness band type of device with a black-and-white OLED display that sits on the underside of the wrist. It’s designed to be used in conjunction with a smartphone and will vibrate when users receive notifications. Through a wireless Bluetooth connection, it will be able to communicate with iPhone 5, 5S, 6, 6 Plus as well as Android 4.3+ smartphones.
The band can track a user’s location, altitude, steps walked, sleep data and everything else one needs to quantify their body. And, its most intriguing feature is its ability to communicate with other Nabu wristbands. It earned a Best of CES People’s Choice award, beating more than 40 finalists to the top spot.
However, according to a post at Razer Insider, the company will be readying wave 2 of pre-orders shortly. Retail pricing on the Razer Nabu is expected to be $99.99.
