Luxury card company Gilded Age Greetings, based in Florida and New Jersey, USA designed the world’s most expensive Christmas card, priced up to a whopping $10,000 (£6,395). What makes this card so special and expensive is fact, that it is made from German-imported calfskin vellum, painted with 23K gold and ornamented with precious rubies. Each card a masterwork of design and detail, a fabulous and luxurious gift of taste and refinement.
Christmas cards which take over a month to create, are handmade with designs painted on calfskin vellum- a type of medieval parchment. To get even more personal, buyers have the option of having their signature inscribed by a professional calligraphist. The cards are delivered in a leather-bound box that’s also custom-made.
