A place where no neighbor who would annoy you. And, a view that most people can only dream of. The most isolated houses in the world is located on the beautiful island of Elliðaey, part of the Vestmannaeyjar archipelago south of Iceland and surrounds a fascinating history. It is believed that in this place lived five families more than 300 years in huts, and they lived from the hunting (birds) and livestock raising.
However, life so detached from civilization has become very impractical and therefore the family moved away, and the island was left abandoned.
In the decades that ensued, the former inhabitants of this island have realized that there is no better place to hunt birds then this island and they are therefore built a cottage they use during his hunting missions.
Lately rumors are circulating that the Iceland’s government gave this island to the singer Bjork for putting the country on the international radar, however, this information remains only in the rumor.
