64-year Old Dalmore Trinitas Malt
Well if it is a 64-year-old bottle of Dalmore Trinitas, the price tag is a staggering $150,000. The Dalmore 64 Trinitas is the last of just three bottles (yes, just THREE!) ever produced and it’ll be going up for sale at London’ Whisky Show later this month.
Containing spirit dating from 1868, 1878, 1926 and 1939, The Dalmore Trinitas is a 64 year old single malt that is as exceptional as it is rare. So what flavors does the drink offer? It comes with toppings of Seville oranges and mango, notes of treacle toffee and soft licorice and a gentle caress of truffles and muscovado sugar. The golden liquid takes over 140 years to brew.
The Dalmore 64 tastes like purple heaven, said master blender Richard Paterson, whose nose for whiskey is so attuned to the nuances of scents that it’s insured for $2.5 million by Lloyd’s of London. So if you’ve got an extra hundred grand in pounds sterling lying around and want to get the most expensive scotch on the market, there’s your chance.
However, that’s not all: not only will Whisky Show visitors be able to see one of the world’s rarest ever whiskies in the flesh at The Whisky Show, one lucky ticketholder will actually get to taste it as well. That’s about $32,000 a glass.
