Amanpuri is a luxury resort located on Pansea Beach on the west coast of the island of Phuket in Thailand. The resort is owned by Amanresorts. Amanpuri which means “place of peace” in Sanskrit reflects its name in more ways than one. Set amongst coconut palms above a crescent-shaped beach by the brilliant turquoise sea, this is a place where nature and culture harmoniously merge, yielding a pure tranquillity where less means more and luxury is found in graciousness.
Amanpuri resort itself embodies the inner spirit of Thai culture while allowing nature to reign supreme. Since its opening in 1988, it has established a reputation for personal service, fine cuisine and cruising. Guests will stay in 40 pavilions and 32 villas which spread over 24 hectares of a hilly headland on the northern side of Pansea beach. Each pavilion includes a bedroom, a bathroom with separate shower and bath, an outdoor sala. Each villa features a swimming pool, separate dining and living rooms, kitchen and 2 to 6 bedrooms.
The public facilities include two restaurants, a spa, a library (with over 1000 books), 6 tennis courts, a gym, a Pilates studio, a boardroom equipped for meetings, a gallery with a selection of items for purchase. These are located around a large rectangular pool.
