Japanese “Toshiba” has developed a humanoid robot that will begin to work at the information desk in the company’s stores in Tokyo. Female robot named Aiko Chihira, and speaks Japanese language, for now. What is interesting is that Aiko speaks sign language too. However, this robot is not able to chat with the customers, but just for the fulfillment of tasks and answers to specific questions.
The creators of this robot sought to Aiko Chihira looks as humanely as possible. Aiko blinks and moves her lips when talking to people, and is programmed for a traditional Japanese greeting – bow.
Toshiba’s robot will debut this Monday at the store in Nihonbashi, one of the fancier parts of Tokyo.
