NBCUniversal head Steve Burke has listed his mansion on the border between Brentwood and Santa Monica on sale, asking $9.7 million. He purchased the property via trust in late 2013 for $8.7 million. Practically brand new three-floor residence spans more than 8,000 square feet with half a dozen bedrooms and five full and three half bathrooms.
According to Variety, a refined main-floor living spaces include a center-hall entry, step-down living room with fireplace, dining room, paneled library, and oversized center-island kitchen with furniture-grade cabinetry, subway tile backsplashes and an adjoining breakfast area and family room with second fireplace. A finished basement, which marketing materials describe as “flooded with natural light,” contains laundry facilities, an en suite staff bedroom, copious storage (including a room for wine) and, naturally, a professional-grade screening room with leather recliner seating and wet bar.
Numerous French doors open the main-floor living spaces to the privet-hedge-encircled backyard, which isn’t particularly large but is smartly arranged to include a trellis-shaded dining terrace; a patio for entertaining, with fire pit; a built-in barbecue; a small patch of grass; and a plunge-sized swimming pool with inset spa.
