Italian headphone maker V-Moda, known for its trendy high-end personalized headphones is taking this process to a new level by offering headsets with 3D-printed panels. Now, V-Moda headphone owners have the ability to make some of the strangest designs ever, in full 3D printed shields made of a wide array of materials that include stainless steel, plated, raw, and precious metals such as silver, solid 14k gold, 14k rose gold, 14k white gold or platinum. They range from a reasonable $40 to an astounding $40,000 for the platinum-printed models.
V-MODA’s “Forg3D” system allows users to create their own headphones online. First they’ll select a base color, then select a 3D shield material, then choose their design and monogram. V-Moda includes a lifetime warranty on all precious metal offerings.
