So far we have seen a variety of interesting versions of of cinemas, but such one you didn’t have a chance to see. It is a floating cinema on the Kudu Island in Thailand, designed by architect Ole Scheeren specifically for Film on the Rocks Yao Noi Festival. Called the “Archipelago Cinema,” this cinema was designed from local fishermen rafts that float on the tires, and the canvas is stretched on a special platform. The whole idea is extremely interesting, and visitors can watch movies lying down.
As architect told, he wanted to connect the beauty of nature and the film in a fun way. Unfortunately, with the completion of the festival this cinema is dismantled, but they hope that sometime in the near future it will be placed again.
