Aston Martin has unveiled an enhanced version of its four-seater, the Rapide. The only 4-door sedan from the British manufacturer has received a revamp, “S” version. Compared to the standard Rapide, the car’s exterior remained almost unchanged, and the only differences observed in the grille and a small rear spoiler. There is also a package of equipment in which some elements of the body, such as mirror housings, front spoiler and rear diffuser made of carbon fiber.
Inside Rapid S got the details drawn in black, high gloss, while the seats, instrument panel and interior door skin covered with red-and-black combination. Rapid S can be converted in a two-seater, folding rear seats, which as they say in the Aston Martin gets a useful volume of 900 liters.
The accessories include two screens and multimedia systems that are built into the front seats for the passengers sitting behind.
However, the most important improvement on this car, which deserved the label “S”, is the 5.9-liter V12 engine. This engine is upgraded for 81 hp, and now develops 558 hp. Maximum torque is also higher. Thanks to these improvements, the Aston Martin Rapide S reaches 0-60 miles per hour comes in 4.9 s, which is 0.3 seconds faster than the standard model and increased the maximum speed to 190mph. At the same time, emit the least CO2 has been lowered from 355 to 332 g /km.
Aston Martin Rapide S will go on sale in February 2013. It is expected that the starting price will be around $200,000.
