Baccarat will launch Rouge 540, a new limited edition perfume celebrating the brand’s 250th anniversary. This perfume is so named because 540C is the temperature molten crystal has to reach to transmute into Baccarat’s hallmark red color. Rouge 540’s bottle 9a single diamond-cut flacon) is based on a 1942 George Chevalier design (Chevalier was Baccarat’s artistic director and designed for it from 1916 until the 1970s).
Developed by perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, Rouge 540 is a floral woody amber with a notes of blood orange, lavender, sage, ambergris, moss, woods and oak.
Baccarat Rouge 540 will be limited to only 250 pieces. It is available at Harrods, priced at £3,000 ($4,820) for 100ml bottle.
