Under the leadership of Jacobsen Brewery’s brewmaster, Morten Ibsen, six Carlsberg brewers from Norway, France, Great Britain and Denmark produced six different labels for Vintage 3, the third and final beer in the prestigious Vintage beer trilogy, which started in 2008th, from Jacobsen Brewery.
Vintage 3 marks the conclusion of the world’s most exclusive beer project, featuring labels, bottles and beer that point to the future. Kaspar Bonnen was the first artist hired for the project, and he brought in his two artist colleagues, Kristoffer Ørum and Anders Bojen to develop not just one, but the six labels of the most exclusive beer in the world.
The artists utilised Carlsberg City as the centre of fictive narratives on the labels, which take place in a distant future or a past that never happened. The six labels are: The Carlsberg Tower (1914), Order of the Solar Temple (2011-2187), The brainwave battery of memories (2147), Our Dome, or The Carlsberg Dome (2047), Galaxy Scriptures (2213) and The Age of Originality (1876-2019).
As part of this project was only made a thousand bottles of most exclusive beer in the world, which will be sold at the price of the 2010 Danish kroner (about 250 euros or $340).
The process of maturation takes place in the original Jackobson’s basement (1847th years) in oak casks used for holding wine, the beer adds a special flavor. Each bottle is filled manually and the procedure is about 15 minutes. It is also interesting that the manufacturer guarantees the accuracy of drinks at least 50 years, but that does not lose its validity even after a century.
