After New Yorker Art Deco Keyboard and a cool Steampunk PC Suite – The Clacker, its time for Datamancer to present us with a completely functional Steampunk Laptop. At a glance, look like a Victorian music box, but inside Richard Nagy’s creation lives cutting-edge internal components capable of running any of today’s games and other software. Victorian Steampunk Laptop is still portable, but much lighter, slimmer and convenient than a standard laptop. A few different options for the design on the LCD lid including clockworks are available. Other customizations include recessed gold foil maps, brass plates with a variety of designs engraved or photo-etched into them, etc.
Right now, it’s PC only, but Nagy explains: For the sake of standardization and in consideration for the extremely proprietary nature of Mac’s hardware and software, I will probably only make a PC hardware version at first, but if you have your heart set on Mac, there are many simple ways to install the Mac OS on a PC laptop with almost no noticeable differences in function.
Every laptop includes a key-shaped USB flash drive that will also open a brass lock on each machine. As for colors, you can pick a wood stain, light oak, dark red mahogany hues alongside key fonts, metals, LED colors and styles, options as well. Datamancer Steampunk Laptop is priced at $5,500 for the first batch. Retail prices would be around $7,500. [Datamancer]
