Gucci and Fiat teamed up to produced a special-edition Fiat 500 customized by Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini, to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy and Gucci’s 90th anniversary. Also known as the Fiat 500 by Gucci, a special edition of the popular city car will be presented at the Geneva Auto Show.
Fiat 500 by Gucci is available in a black and white exterior color with Gucci scheme green-red-green stripes. The stripes are also visible inside on the seats, on the gear shift, the key-cover, the carpets and on the seatbelts. The interior of the car will also feature exclusive materials, glossy and satin chromes, the velvety varnish on the radioboard, the two-toned seats in Frau leather with the Guccissima print.
The exterior of the Fiat 500 by Gucci also gets 16-inch wheels with hubcaps getting interlocking GG in the same color of the body of the car and the cursive Gucci signature appears on the hatchback as well on the doorpost. Power comes from a 100-hp 1.4L engine with rear brake calipers in Gucci green.
Travelling in style has always been in the heart of Gucci as Guccio Gucci had originally started off as a producer of leather trunks, suitcases and handbags. So, not surprising collaboration between Gucchi and the Fiat 500, who created a style revolution in the 50s.
Sales of the Fiat 500 by Gucci start online on April 1 to June 30 with prices starting at €17,000 ($23,375) with all taxes included. The 500 by Gucci will be displayed in Geneva for 10 days starting on March 3. After that the car will also be desplayed in other cities like Paris, London, Tokio and other. [Fiat]
