In the year marking half a century since the launch of the 911, Porsche unveiled the GT3 version of the 911 at Motor Show in Geneva.
The racing version differs from civil with aggressive front of which contains the optional spoiler and LED headlights. Rear fenders were expanded to cover wider tires, and there are additional aerodynamic elements of the doors. On GT3 is most recognizable the fixed rear wing stabilizers. Redesigned the rear bumper, which has the side air vents and dual exhaust has been moved into the middle of the bumper. Stylistic improvements are complemented by a special 20-inch alloy wheels.
For those who are not fans of Alcantara interior Porsche 911 GT3 will be too attractive. German automakers did not spare on this material, so beside the seats and steering wheel covered with Alcantara, the inside of the door and the lower parts of the dashboard are with this material. The rest of the dashboard and seats wrapped in quality leather and quilted in a separate thread color to give a nice contrast to the dominant black. Shifters, shorter wheel and the center console are made of aluminum. At the top of the center console dominates a large screen with multimedia system.
The car gets power from the 3.8-liter six-cylinder boxer engine with direct injection. This engine is capable of producing 475 hp and 438 Nm of torque. The engine is connected to the seven-speed automatic transmission with double clutch, and power is transmitted to the rear wheels. Porsche 911 GT3 accelerates from 0 to 60mph in 3.5 seconds and reaches a maximum of 195mph. Porsche has announced that the car is able to go around the circle on the Nürburgring Nordschleife in less than 7 minutes and 30 seconds.
The Porsche 911 GT3 is the first car manufacturer that has the handling and rear wheels. The system works by the rear wheels as needed turn in the same or opposite direction in relation to the front, in order to achieve greater agility and maneuverability in curves.
Porsche 911 GT3 will go on sale first in Germany, in August 2013, with a starting price of $180,000.
