Georges Duboeuf is one of the world’s best-known French brands. For over 40 years Georges Duboeuf has been the Beaujolais region’s most renowned négociant and is today regarded in the wine world as the “King of Beaujolais.”
2017 Georges Duboeuf’s Beaujolais Nouveau reflect the deep fruit character of the vintage.
Vibrant red fruits such as strawberries and currants on the palate and an intense perfume make this wine a perfect accompaniment for cheese, charcuterie and traditional holiday fare.
Georges Duboeuf and his team tasted more than 5,000 samples over two weeks to craft this cuvee. Harvesting of this wine is done manually, in whole bunches, from vines that are more than 20 years old. Traditional, semi-carbonic maceration lasts from four to eight days, and malolactic fermentation is fully conducted at temperatures ranging from 19 and 21 degrees Celsius in stainless steel tanks.
This year’s vintage features, for the first time in the wine’s history, an artist’s work on its label. The mixed-media piece, “Candy Coated”, was created by Ari Azzopardi-Robinson, a St. Petersburg, Fla.-based artist. It was selected from more than 500 artist submissions from around the world.
The suggested retail price of the 2017 vintage of Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau is $12.
