One more product in a series of items with edible gold. Now it’s Olive Oil. Medicinal value of olive oil, especially extra virgin olive oil is well known. Island of Hvar in Croatia is famous for producing the same.
Olive oil company Lesina whose olive groves are located on the south side of the island of Hvar near the village of Holy Sunday came up with the idea to enrich their drops with dry gold. Not only purity of this superior olive oil is causing the gorgeous golden glow, but the flakes of pure 24-carat gold, which shines in delicate structure of the oil.
Golden olive oil, premium gastronomic luxury with clean flakes of 24-carat gold, appeared on market in limited edition of 444 packages and costs €600 ($840). For one bottle with two deciliter was needed 12 craftsmen and more than 120 hours to complete.
Only a few will have the opportunity to become proud owners of exclusive package. It contains a bottle with two deciliter of olive oil mixed with flakes of pure 24-carat gold, placed in a luxury wooden box coated with high-gloss black finish in seven layers and packed in a plush case. There is also booklet with recipes and food photographs decorated with the Golden olive oil and proprietary card with a serial number of purchased bottle.
