Now, she is the most popular cat even in the sky! Hello Kitty Jet by Taiwanese airline Eva Air already flies to Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, China and Guam but from this month, this cute jet will make its maiden voyage to American sky, more precisely to Los Angeles. Passangers traveling between Taipei and Los Angeles will fly on a Hello Kitty jumbo jet (B777-300), on its first flight, scheduled for Sept. 18, according to the airline. Flights will operate three adorable times per week.
Everything on the jet is emblazoned with the remarkably simple but iconic image: a bow-tied, three-whiskered, mouth-less white cat. Also, everything inside the jets, but literally everything is Hello Kitty – themed, from the pillows, headrests, snack bags and luggage tags. Even, the food – the fruit, butter and vegetables will be shaped like Hello Kitty’s face or her tiny hair bow.
According to Focus Taiwan, News Channel, not only Hello Kitty will appear on the jet. The plans for the new B777-300 include the 70 percent more surface area, which will allow space for other cartoon characters in the Sanrio family, the company that created Hello Kitty, to appear on the plane. A total of 19 characters will be themed, including Bad Badtz-maru and Pom Pom Purin, the airline said.
Rumor says that the chairman of EVA Airways will personally fly the company’s new plane on its maiden flight to LA. The service is also likewise to enter Europe in the future.
