If 1200hp that currently2012 Venom GT can speed it, isn’t enough for you, John Hennessey took care for that by adding 300 (three hundred) more horsepower into the Venom GT2. If original Hennessey Venom GT was labelled as Veyron-killer, how then to name this new hypercar with its 1,500 horsepower and a power-to-weight ratio of 1+ bhp-per-kilogram.
Powered by 7.0-liter twin turbo V8 engine, new Hennessey Performance’s Venom GT2 is expected to zip from zero to 60 mph in just 2 seconds, finish a quarter-mile drag race in 8.8 seconds and have a top speed of 287 mph.
John Hennessey said there have been aerodynamic improvements to the modified Lotus Elise body, specifically changes to the side mirrors, roof and front air dam. “The Venom GT will continue to offer the best power-to-weight ratio for any hypercar available on the market,” Hennessey said.
Also compared to the standard Venom GT, new hypercar features headroom with a double bubble roof that provides someone up 1.95 metres to squeeze in. That is an improvement of around 5cm. The windshield, dash and cockpit is Lotus stock.
Expected to be unveiled sometime in 2013, Hennessey’s new Venom GT2 will have a base price of 1.25 million dollars, and that’s before you’ve started adding options. For an extra $165,000 you can get the seven-speed paddle-shift transmission.
