It looks like the Chinese market is getting a bunch of new cars only for themselves. As we’ve seen the two special edition Bentley models presented at the Beijing Auto Show, now we are introduced to the Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce China Edition. It will be built exclusively for the Chinese market with a limited edition of just 10 units.
Designed for discriminating super sports car enthusiasts, LP 670-4 SV China Edition features a grey exterior with black and orange accents. Inside, the cabin is outfitted with alcantara upholstery, carbon fiber trim, orange accents. Also, all limited edition Lamborghini will feature a numeration badge with the name of its owner.
Like the standard Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce, the China Edition weighs 220 lbs less than the Murciélago LP 640. In order to achieve this ‘substantial weight reduction’, the SV China Edition has a high-strength sectional steel framework and a variety of carbon fiber components. Like the other LP670-4 SV models, the Chinese Edition gets a massive 6.5-liter V12 engine with 670-hp and 487 ft-lbs of torque enabling a 0-62 mph sprint of just 3.2 seconds. It tops out at 213 mph (342 km/h), unless buyers go with the ‘Aeropack Wing’, which cuts top speed down to a mere 209 mph (337 km/h).
Lamborghini has already had considerable success in the Chinese marketplace and with limited edition models like this it is showing an increased enthusiasm for the future. Last year, Automobili Lamborghini achieved 11 percent growth in China, said CEO Stephan Winkelmann at a press conference for the debut of the LP670-4 SV Chinese Edition at the Beijing Auto Show.
