NBA legend Larry Bird is leaving his nest in Naples, Florida. Although longtime Naples resident, Birds has decided to sell his waterfront home, apparently because he won’t have much time to spend in Florida after signing contract to take over the Indiana Pacers’ basketball operations. His custom-built home in the Naples’ Park Shore subdivision has been listed for $4.8 million.
Bird bought this luxury home overlooking the beautiful Venetian Bay for $875,000, after moving around the Naples’ neighborhood. He had multiple homes in the swanky Naples area of Florida since 1993 until buying the current property in 1998, which he tore down and built the existing mansion in 2001.
Stunning 4 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms home boasts nearly 6,000 square feet of living space with custom details throughout. Interior highlights include a gourmet kitchen , a saltwater aquarium behind a full service bar and state-of-the-art home theater. An outside area comprises a private outdoor villa that includes another outdoor kitchen, tiki hut, and luxurious infinity-edge pool leading up to the sparkling bay.
One more thing you should know – the property taxes cost the Birds more than $32,000 last year.
