The controversial tuners from MANSORY have presented at this year’s Geneva Auto Show the G-Couture model based on the Mercedes G55 AMG. The MANSORY G-Couture Mercedes G55 AMG was designed by Philipp Plein, a well known fashion designer.
Like all Mansory cars, the G-Couture’s exterior is stylish and luxurious. Carbon is used in its entire exterior up to the lower window edge and the roof of the SUV, contributing to the overall performance of the car. Mansory said that it has used the autoclave-prepreg-method, which compresses the carbon so strongly in a special pressure chamber that no more air inclusions remain in the material. Due to the cost, this is a processing method only used in aviation and aerospace.
Also, the new Mansory G-Couture has received a number of visual elements such as the set of 23 inch wheels that will surely attract glances tuning enthusiasts. Under the hood, Mercedes G 55 AMG G-Couture by Mansory has received a performance package which increased engine power to 700 horsepower (515 kW) and torque to 880 Nm, compared with base version that comes with 507 horsepower (373 kW) and torque of 700 Nm.
Inside the car, Mansory has replaced the back seats with two individual seats and covered them in fine leather which has great endurance and especially pleasant surface quality. The exquisite overall impression is enhanced by the airbag sports steering wheel and the aluminium pedals. The entire refinement of the passenger cabin is emphasised by applications made of real python skin in silver and crowned with G-Couture logos in the head rests. Back seat passengers also have a top-notch DVD multimedia system to amuse themselves.
Pricing has not yet been disclosed but it probably won’t be a good idea to set your sights on owning one since it’s likely to be priced way beyond most people’s budget.
