Italian luxury car manufacturers, Maserati, has previewed the first images and initial details for the new GranTurismo Sport that will be unveiled to the world at the Geneva Motor Show on March 6th and replaces the company’s best selling GranTurismo S. The refreshed coupe gets a massaged front bumper that optimizes airflow for better engine and brake cooling. The headlights also get restyled, incorporating LED daytime running lights. The rear gets new taillights with a darker tone, whilst the interior gets a new steering wheel and aggressive upgrade.
However, the biggest upgrade is found under the engine, where the 4.7-liter V8 has been boosted from 434 horsepower to 460 – 26 more horses than found in the MC and GranCabrio Sport, which we’d expect to be upgraded in due course, as well.
As with the current GranTurismo S, Maserati will offer the Sport with either the conventional six-speed ZF automatic transmission, or the option of the more sporting six-speed sequential transaxle used in the current MC-Shift GranTurismo S model.
Full performance and pricing details will be released at the Geneva Auto Show on 6 March.
