The home of Modern Family’s Phil and Claire Dunphy has reportedly sold for $2,15 million. Will the Dunphy family have to move out as well? The house, which is located a few minutes from 20th Century Fox’s LA film studios, in the Los Angeles suburb of Cheviot Hills, has been on the market since March when asked $2,35 million. Despite its screen fame, it sold under the asking price. Paul Chiames, the owner of the house, purchased the place in 2006 for $1.97 million.
A 2683-square-feet single-storey home, sits on a 6393 square-feet lot comprising of four bedrooms, five bathrooms and a kitchen molded with granite counter tops. The home has large doors and windows with dark hardwood flooring and drywall ceilings. The show only uses the exterior of the house but for scenes inside the house, they actually use a sound stage.
Two other homes made famous by the series are also located nearby: Mitch, Cameron and Lily’s home is in Century City, while Jay, Gloria and Manny’s home is located in Brentwood. Similarly, only the houses’ exteriors are used for the show.
