Legendary singer-songwriter Neil Diamond is doing well these days and years, as confirmed with his latest transaction. He has purchased a Malibu estate for $7,25 million and appears Diamond scored a gem of a deal, because the sellers paid $8.15 million for the home in August 2010. However, his new house is located just off Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) in a really little oceanfront gated community called Blue Whale Estates in the remote northwest reaches of Malibu. There are just five homes within the gates. Diamond’s house is the largest of the five, though at 4,692-square-feet it’s big but definitely not humongous.
Built in 1996, the house is filled with curved walls and sits on a large lot behind a privacy hedge. The five-bedroom, seven-bath home features spectacular ocean views, an open kitchen with granite counters and stainless-steel range, and a great room with vaulted ceiling.
Outside there’s a stone patio, spa, and infinity pool. And, despite the fact that the house is not oceanfront, there is private beach access directly below the property.
