Heir of Breitling Emergency model is expected for a long time. At this year’s Baselworld, Emergency II is presented. It is a “boulder” of the watch (diameter 51mm), but also the real miracle of technology. Intended primarily for pilots, and any other individuals who may be found in dangerous situations, Emergency II in terms of function of modules EM goes a step further than its predecessor.
Emergency old had a radio transmitter at a frequency of 121.5 MHz, with a range of 90 nautical miles (167 km) and 6,000 feet in the air, under normal circumstances, in calm water, or flat terrain. Emergency also did not have enough power to send a signal to the satellites, which is certainly limited its use.
Emergency II, in addition to standard analog transmitter on 121.5 MHz, is implemented and a transmitter that sends a digital signal at a frequency of 406 MHz. This provides to the rescuer more information about the location, but what is more important – the signal is sending up to the satellite. This is exactly what makes the Breitling Emergency II useful at any point of the planet. When you unscrew the cap transmitter, both sides pull the housing antenna.then turns the signal on both frequencies over 24 hours.
The Emergency II model has a rechargeable battery. We come to the dimensions of which are not for each hand! With a diameter of 51 mm and a height of 18 mm, Emergency II is a huge clock. Fortunately housing is made of titanium, so the weight is bearable. The watch is Breitling Caliber 76 (ETA 988 352), the same mechanism as in the previous model. It is a SuperQuartz mechanism. Deviations per year is + / – 12 seconds and the mechanism is a COSC certified. As for the other functions of the mechanism, there are 12/24h analog and digital clock. Low Battery Indicator, chronograph measure hundredth of a second, timer, second time zone and multi-lingual calendar.
Emergency II will be manufactured in three different dials. In black, orange and yellow. Also, in addition to titanium bracelets can also be obtained with the rubber strap. Expected price is $18.500.
