Skyfall will be the 23rd film in the series 007, the third with Daniel Craig as James Bond, and will be released in November 2012. For that occasion, Swiss luxury watchmaker, Omega has presented a special edition of the legendary Seamaster. Skyfall is the second limited edition Seamaster Planet Ocean (and the first in 42 mm size) for a James Bond movie.
Taking the form of the brand’s Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M, the Skyfall edition boasts a 42mm stainless steel case with a matte black ceramic rotating bezel, matching dial and chromium nitride diving scale. The watch is water resistant to 600 metres. The matte black dial has a checkered or brick shape structure and features applied indexes, which are coated with white Super-Luminova that emits blue light. The hour and seconds hands also emit blue light in the dark, while the minute hand emits green light, as does the dot on the diving bezel. At the 7 o’clock position is a 007 logo and at 3 o’clock, there is a date window.
This is already the second limited edition that Omega releases this year. In January this year, they already released a limited edition Seamaster Professional for the 50th anniversary of James Bond. That one was limited to 11,007 pieces! Seamaster planet Ocean 600M Skyfall wristwatch will be produced in a limited edition of 5,007 pieces, and delivered in in a special presentation box.
Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Skyfall Limited Edition is powered by OMEGA’s exclusive new Co-Axial calibre 8507. Black-varnished engraving Skyfall 007 is on its rotor, and the movement is visible through sapphire crystal in the brushed screw-in caseback. The new caliber is equipped with an Si14 silicon balance spring.
Omega has been associated with James Bond movies since 1995, when Pierce Brosnan as iconic secret service agent with code number 007 wore the Omega Seamaster Quartz professional in the movie GoldenEye.
